Executive House Suites Hotel & Conference Centre

My first visit to High Level was a chance to explore a bit. The hotel was accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was my favourite part. I'm a sucker for hotels with big breakfasts, and I'll definitely come back when the time comes. I don't have a photo of the room, just the breakfast I had there. Thanks, Executive House Suites.

My car needed repairs while I was heading farther north, so this wasn't a planned stop. It took an extra day to fix, and the staff were understanding and incredibly helpful, giving me late checkout on both days I stayed. Everyone, from the front desk to the restaurant staff, was so nice. The room was bigger than I expected, with a kitchen, oven, microwave, fridge and small dining table. The decor is dated, but I liked how it suited the space. The queen bed was nice, though softer than I prefer since I like a really firm bed. There were lots of pillows, which was great. A really lovely stay. If you're in High Level looking for a place, check it out. It's worth it.

The water was extremely hard and smelled unpleasant. I overheard other guests complaining of stomach issues and diarrhea, and I experienced that myself too. The room cleanliness was poor as well. It was almost never fully cleaned, the blanket had a strange sticky residue on the outside, and towels were often removed during cleaning without being replaced. Breakfast was frustrating. It was rarely restocked, so if you weren't down early, there might be no juice or yogurt. When juice was available, it often had strange floaters. Juice and milk were poured into an open drink canister sitting in an ice bucket, which felt unsanitary and unprofessional. The sausage and bacon were soaked in grease and nearly inedible. Odd little plants cluttered the dining tables without adding anything to the atmosphere. The stay felt uncomfortable and unsanitary. I wouldn't recommend it unless major changes are made.

We were happy with our room and would stay here again. It had what we needed for a comfortable stay, including a small kitchen area, table and chairs, a loveseat and a balcony. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant served good food at good prices. Breakfast was included too, with lots of hot and cold options. I'd recommend the hotel.
