Ramada by Wyndham Cranbrook

We arrived to find blood on a blanket and reported it to the front desk right away. We were told a replacement would come the next morning, but nobody came, changed the blanket, or followed up. My children were scared to sleep in the room, and the situation caused our family a lot of distress. We still have to stay one more night, which is unacceptable given this hygiene issue. I’m asking for a refund or other appropriate compensation. This concerns cleanliness, safety, and children’s well-being, and should have been handled urgently. I have photos if needed. After I posted an honest review, a staff member confronted my husband and blamed him for writing a bad review. That was intimidating and completely unprofessional. Guests should never be pressured or confronted for sharing their experience. These failures in cleanliness, guest safety, follow-up, and staff conduct have left us extremely disappointed. We’d like Wyndham to investigate and provide appropriate compensation, and expect a prompt response and resolution.

They went out of their way to make our hockey team happy, even opening the breakfast bar early for our game and letting the adults socialize there in the evening. We had a great experience and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

There were a couple of other hockey teams at the hotel, so it got pretty noisy. Sorry to anyone staying there who wasn’t with one of the teams, but that’s how it goes, lol. We were there for my son’s tournament, and the staff were fantastic with the kids. The evening clerk was always smiling and so helpful to both parents and children.

At checkout, I got bills for all four rooms showing a zero balance. Then, on Christmas Eve, I got a call saying a system glitch meant my payments hadn’t gone through. I’ve never had a hotel fail to charge my card, and 38 days is a long time to go without reconciling payments. We’d also reserved the breakfast nook for a team meal, only to learn it was double-booked and had to leave early. I wouldn’t recommend group bookings here. The photos are misleading. The hotel badly needs updates and odor control, since most of the non-smoking rooms smell like smoke. There was just one staff member working. She was very sweet and hardworking, but nobody should have to handle the front desk, housekeeping, and everything else alone.
