Rivière-Verte RiteStop

The kids really enjoy the big amusement area, and there’s plenty here for a convenient stop: level sites make parking and hooking up the trailer quick, and we don’t unhitch for stays of a night or two. There are also cottages for rent, likely best booked ahead if you’re not traveling with a trailer. The restaurant has pizza, chicken meals, and typical burger-joint food. I liked it more in the past. You can use a shower under the restaurant, and there’s gas, diesel, propane, a convenience store with frozen and fresh fish, plus liquor. We’ve stopped many times without trouble, and the amenities are generally good. But our last visit was rough. Loud music went on until I got dressed, walked over, and asked the group to turn it down. They did without arguing, but I barely slept and was exhausted when I hit the road. The next morning, the owner refunded us without any hassle. I’d have rated this a four, but this stay brought it down to three. We’ll see if the campground improves enough for us to rate it higher later.

We got there and found the business closed and up for sale, including the restaurant and gas station. The website was still online and the phone number still worked, but no one answered while we were traveling.

The cottage was clean and decent, and it was one of the few places that lets you bring pets. It was worth the price we paid.

Comfortable, nice place, and there’s a restaurant within walking distance.
