The hotel room is why I'm giving this three stars. It felt very old and drab, with a torn sofa, a shower surround coming away from the wall, ancient carpet, and an old, uncomfortable bed. For the price, it's about what you'd expect, but a renovation and a modest price increase could do the place good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was affordable, and the cheeseburger was fantastic.

The staff were great about the noise. A train passed three times overnight, and I could hear every bump where the track joined. The whole place was loud, and sound carried everywhere. They moved me to the other side of the hall and even offered another motel if that still wasn't enough. Excellent customer service.

The locals are incredibly friendly, and the food and servers are great. I've travelled all over Manitoba and between Alberta and Manitoba for work, and this is one of the best places I've stayed. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the good food and good people mentioned in the reviews are absolutely real. I'm back in Virden now, staying at the Virden Central Hotel again. I wanted to update this because good service should be consistent, and it is here. The waitress remembered which beer I chose two weeks ago. Honestly, I might go out of my way to drive past Brandon just to stop here. I'd suggest you do the same.

The bar was a highlight of my workday while I was in the area for a few weeks. I'd sit by the counter with a beer, enjoy the happy banter, and relax. The staff are friendly and funny, and I met some very friendly locals there too. Good karma in this little place. The specials are nicely priced, the food is alright, and the burgers are quite tasty. I'd like to see a couple of spicy dishes to break up the salt, pepper, and butter combination. Throw some chili in there, guys! Thanks for the friendly experience. I'll come back whenever I'm in this little town again. (Neil, Alberta)

The jelly was spoiled and my toast was burnt. After waiting half an hour, the breakfast arrived cold. The washrooms were dirty and out of paper. I'd recommend eating somewhere else.
