It's not a bad place, though you can get a cheaper stay elsewhere. The pancake machine was a really fun surprise. I also found it funny that Virden tap water has arsenic levels that mean they recommend limiting consumption. Maybe they could offer free bottled water, though I didn't ask. Aside from that, it was fine.

I've stayed here twice while driving across Canada, and it's a good choice in Virden. The hotel is right off the highway, the rooms are roomy and clean, and the hot tub was great. Both times I asked for a ground floor room, and they were very accommodating. The woman at the front desk is so kind.

We come here whenever we're in town for volleyball. It's a welcoming place. The pool could be cleaned up since it's cloudy, though with so many kids there, I can understand how that happens.

The desk staff were the bright spot for me. I arrived in the evening on my cross country drive to see if they had a room, and they did. Both women there were kind and fun. One seemed to be training, but getting checked in was quick and easy. The room and bed were big and comfortable, with good water pressure. Breakfast was a treat: I took two bananas, a butter tart, and juice to go, though hot breakfast items were available too. I did find someone else's toenail or fingernail in the shower, long hairs on the hair dryer handle and holder, and more hairs stuck to the bathroom walls. Ew. Even with that, it was a lovely stay.
