There’s lots of room at the new West Lake campground, and the night sky is beautiful, though there are no trees or shade. The area felt relaxing. Its new washroom facilities are the best I’ve seen in Ontario Parks, with showers, private restrooms, and laundry.

There’s a day-use camping area near the beach if you can’t get a spot there. It’s a great place for a water view, a stony beach, and a shaded picnic.

If you can’t make it down South, this is the next best place to go. The beach is absolutely beautiful, with miles of nothing but sand and clear water.
