Hôtel Maison du Fort

Old Quebec was right outside, and the common area was a cozy place to sit, with comfortable couches and a Nespresso machine, tea, and powdered drinks. Our room was pretty and comfortable too, with a great bathtub, a Nespresso machine, snacks, and a water filter. The staff were lovely. The woman at the front door even put together a list of restaurant suggestions for us. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our room was on the third floor, room number 6, and there’s no elevator, so heavy bags could be a challenge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the note with instructions for our late check-in was very thoughtful. I loved how Hôtel Maison du Fort combines the old building’s character with modern comfort, including original walls used as accents. The room had a small sink, an under-counter fridge, and glasses. The Nespresso machine and capsules were high quality, and the shampoo and shower soap smelled wonderful. The location in the heart of Old Quebec made it easy to reach the area’s charming sights. I had a truly memorable stay.

The location made exploring so easy. We were steps from a beautiful river view and Old Quebec’s historic landmarks, with most major sights an easy walk away. Each morning there were fresh croissants, a lovely touch. Room #2 was cozy, stylish, and inviting after its modern renovation. The bathroom stood out, especially the huge double shower, which felt like a spa. I also loved the snack drawer and the toiletries smelled amazing. The hotel is adorable, and the staff welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived. I had a fantastic stay, no complaints, and would happily come back.

The place is cute, clean, and the service was wonderful. Still, at $408, I expected more than a room without a sitting area, a proper desk, or a dresser. Parking was two blocks away, and anyone with mobility issues would have a hard time here. It felt overpriced.
