Blue View 6 Stella Chalet 84149

We had a very stressful experience with Blue View Chalets, especially during an already difficult time for our family. Five days before the trip, there was an unexpected death in the family. We contacted the host right away to ask to change our reservation. At first the host agreed to move the dates, then reversed that decision and let an existing guest extend their stay over the dates promised to us. We received no partial refund, future-stay credit, flexibility, or sympathy. We also opened a dispute with VRBO, but got no support, understanding, or reasonable resolution from them either. Neither VRBO nor the host showed empathy or goodwill. Because of the family emergency, we had to leave early to arrange the funeral and stayed only half of the booked period. Again, there was no partial refund or credit. The property itself had several problems. It wasn’t acceptably clean when we arrived, including an unsanitary toilet. Each room had only one bath towel, not enough for a multi-night stay. There were no garbage bags, but we were told to take the garbage out and wash the dishes despite paying nearly $300 in cleaning fees. The heating couldn’t be turned off, so the rooms were excessively hot, especially overnight, and opening windows didn’t help enough. The front door didn’t lock properly, and snow hadn’t been cleared from the porch or steps, creating a safety hazard. The poor communication, refusal to provide any refund or credit, cleanliness problems, and safety issues all added to the strain. I wouldn’t recommend Blue View Chalets. Transparency, empathy, and basic standards were all lacking, and future guests should know about these issues before booking.
