The hostess was fantastic, and the meal was full of great flavors. We started with the cheese bread and its three dipping sauces. That maple syrup dip had a real kick, and we loved it. The bread was amazing too. Fish and chips came next, with perfect batter and chips that were unbelievably tasty. We finished with crème brûlée. A five-star lunch, really.

Bayfield is lovely, with little shops, restaurants and galleries, plus gorgeous views along Lake Huron. We only stayed one night, but we enjoyed it and will definitely return. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was great, both the food and the service. We did have a hot-water issue, but the manager was helpful and fixed it quickly. Highly recommend.

The back patio is such a pretty hidden gem, and the food keeps us coming back. We haven't tried anything on the menu that we didn't love. The specials are fun to order, especially the schnitzel. Ten out of ten, we'd recommend it.

Rebecca looked after us so well, friendly and attentive, with great timing through dinner, dessert and drinks afterward by the outdoor fire. We were there for a festive meal during Christmas in Bayfield weekend. The turkey was tender and full of flavor, the vegetables cooked just right, and the rich savory gravy tied it all together. Generous portions, beautifully presented.

We’ll definitely return. The atmosphere was lovely, and the friendly staff chatting with their regular customers made the place feel comfortable and welcoming. It was our first meal at 1851 Bayfield Landing Bistro, though my husband and I visit Bayfield often. There was a small problem with my order, so I asked the hostess to have our server come by when she had a chance. Tyler, the owner, overheard us. I went back to the table, and within five minutes my order had been fixed. Impressive.
