Best Western Premier Freeport Inn Calgary Airport

The front desk was very helpful, even boosting my dead car battery. The restaurant food was very good, and I found the price quite reasonable. The room was spacious and clean, with a fridge, coffee supplies, and microwave. I’d totally stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Premier Freeport Inn Calgary Airport. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the location was perfect, but the service is what really stood out. I ran into a challenge during my stay, and the manager and staff went above and beyond to look after me. That kind of genuine care and proactive problem solving is rare in hospitality these days.

The park, stay and fly package was very good value. We spent a night here before our flight and another after we flew home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the beds were very, very comfy. The onsite restaurant had great food, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The shuttle got us safely to and from the airport. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone needing somewhere to stay and park when flying out of YYC.

We expected better after an excellent stay at the Best Western executive premier residence property in Medicine Hat. We knew the properties were individually owned and operated, but this very different experience made that obvious. The Freeport Best Western Premier felt completely lacking in hospitality. The day before check-in, we arranged and paid for an early arrival. I’d already been waiting in the parking lot for two hours when, 20 minutes before the agreed time, they called my husband to say they couldn’t honor the confirmed arrangement. He had a heated back and forth with them before they let me wait in another room. While I was briefly in that first room, two maintenance men walked in while I was half nude. Several hours later, we were moved to our actual jacuzzi suite with kitchenette, only to find almost none of the basic things we expected. We got two towels, no robes, bath salts or products, or slippers. The kitchenette was empty: no dish rags, towels, soap, cutlery, plates, bowls, or cups. I spoke to three different people and had to beg for a couple of forks and plates. When they gave them to me, I was rudely told to leave the dining area and eat in my room, even though that was already my plan. When my keys deactivated, the front desk told me I should keep better track of my cards. We left and found another hotel for the rest of our Calgary stay. I’ve worked in hotels and hospitality for 10+ years, and this property was an unwelcoming disappointment. Its proximity to the airport may help fill rooms, but we found no kindness, amenities, or hospitality here.
