For nearly $250, the room was underwhelming, and the hallways were noisy. The late checkout request was the bigger problem, though. I asked the evening before to stay until noon instead of the standard 11 a.m. checkout. The front desk confirmed it and noted it in my file, but someone tried my door around 10:50 the next morning. Soon after, a staff member, presumably housekeeping, knocked. When I explained I had approval, they seemed dismissive rather than sorry. At checkout, the desk employee seemed confused and admitted the previous staff member hadn't handled it properly. There was still no apology, just an explanation for the disturbance. I was also asked why I wanted a late checkout, which felt unnecessary and unusual. I've stayed in plenty of hotels and never had to justify that request. I chose this place expecting a better stay than nearby options. The lack of coordination and professionalism means I wouldn't return.
For the price, this is a very good hotel. The rooms are large and super clean, with a fridge, and there's a microwave near the rooms. Even though it's beside a main road, it's very quiet. The building is new and has two floors, with easy access in and out. Breakfast is a good full meal included in the price. The sunny indoor pool is heated and really nice. Staff are professional, and the REM makes it easy to get into Montreal. There are lots of Chinese and other Asian restaurants, plus plenty of other choices, about a 15-minute walk away. Parking feels safe because access is restricted, though it costs $11 a day. There's also a laundry room with a washer and dryer for a fee.
After a six-hour drive, we reached Best Western Hotel Brossard and ran into a confusing check-in that ended with our reservation canceled and $100 still on hold. The manager never apologized or offered a solution, just said, “the reservation has been canceled, good night.” I'll never recommend this hotel. My husband was told he couldn't check in until we put a $100 security deposit on a different card from the one used to book. The remaining amount, he was told, would be charged to the card on file. He asked whether a card in my name would work and was told I'd need to show up with ID, so he stayed in the car with the kids while I went in. The woman at the desk charged my card for the full amount, not $100. When that didn't go through, she said the card on file would be fine, but my husband would have to return with ID. He went back in, only to be told the card on file couldn't be used for the deposit. I tried another card, and the $100 deposit was approved. Then she said she would cancel our reservation because we'd added too many cards. I explained we'd only added another card because she had asked for it, but she said I had to pay the full amount with my card. I clarified that I'd provided it for the deposit only, as she'd instructed. She said there'd be no proof to give me because the card hadn't been charged. The money is still on hold.
The staff were so friendly and understanding, and for my birthday the manager left a little bag of snacks and a card in my room 🎈. This is the cleanest hotel room I've stayed in. We also had bathrobes, which were lovely before and after the pool, shower, or hot tub. Our deluxe room was $150 a night in March 2026 and felt ideal for a couple or two best friends. There's a huge two-person hot tub in the bedroom, and the kitchenette, dining area, living room, and bedroom all share an open layout. The bathroom with its shower is separate. Breakfast runs from 6 to 10 a.m., and staff kept checking that food was replenished. The hot choices were just scrambled eggs, pork patties, and ham. The eggs were perfect, but that part of the meal wasn't great. There were also bagels, bread, waffles for toasting, cereal, apples and oranges. Those waffles were amazing with the little maple syrup packets 🍁. Yogurt cups came with raisins, almonds, and coconut sprinkles to add, and there were cold individually wrapped boiled eggs. Drinks included fountain water, orange juice, cranberry cocktail, another drink I can't remember, percolated coffee, and decaf. I liked the choices, though I wish there were more tea flavors and that orange pekoe came from the percolator rather than a single tea bag. The seating area was really nice, with one half sunny and the other shaded. There were lots of square tables and chairs, some counter-height tables, and a few very comfy, luxurious sofa tables. The pool is huge and warm enough, though not very hot. The pool room has a high ceiling, big windows, and doors that open onto a long, narrow outdoor area. There's a small sauna and a shower stall with only a curtain for a door, which I hated, so I didn't use it. Pool staff were nice but awkward and watchful. Maybe they were waiting for us to get out so they could add products, though I'm not sure. Towels weren't replenished, and one staff member came in while we were swimming, took all the clean towels, and left. During the day, a staff member told me to tie my hair back, even though I'd read the rules and that wasn't in them. I liked the pool best in the daytime, when there were few people. In the evening, there were way too many kids doing cannonballs, and nobody told them to stop. It was odd to see staff watching closely when hardly anyone was there, but no one around when the pool was crowded. I'm already planning another stay with my husband for our anniversary in mid-March, then one with my best friend for her birthday in June! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The power came back around 2 a.m., but by then this stay had already left me exhausted and disappointed. The room was dirty, and breakfast the next morning was poor: tough eggs, rubbery flavorless sausage, pastries that looked stale, a malfunctioning toaster, and yogurt and juice that seemed old. This was a far cry from the hotel's usual reputation, and I left wary of ever coming back. I arrived near midnight on a frigid January 24 after a seven-hour drive from Ontario to Best Western in Tashereau, Brossard. There was no electricity, and at -27°C outside, the cold indoors felt even worse. The hotel was dark, the reception area lit only by staff flashlights, and there were no emergency lights or working elevators. Staff looked flustered and said the outage had started hours earlier, with no estimate for when power would return. There was little communication, just murmurs of confusion in the dark. My room was freezing and so dark I stumbled several times. The sheets were stained, the carpet musty, and the furniture old and worn. The bathroom was no better. It felt like the hotel had no plan for an emergency, and the cold and neglect left me feeling stranded.
