Motel Rideau

I came from Calgary expecting basic honesty and professional service, but left feeling misled and taken advantage of. The room and the motel's condition looked nothing like the online photos, and the property seemed poorly maintained. The accommodation was far below what I expected, so in my opinion the advertising made this feel like a complete fraud. When I complained about the misleading representation and asked for a refund, the owner was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to handle it professionally. No clear refund policy had been communicated before I reserved. I'd advise others to be cautious before booking.

The room was dark, dirty, in terrible shape, and had a strong unpleasant smell. It looked nothing like the online photos, which makes me wonder why there are so few real pictures of the rooms. They take your money and show no concern afterward. The reception area was unwelcoming, and the receptionist/owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. One of the worst interactions I've had. This was the worst experience I've ever had, and the place felt like a complete scam. I strongly recommend avoiding it.

I paid $1000 for four days, and the room was a wreck, nothing like the listing. There were burn marks and dirt everywhere, plus things left behind by the previous occupant. No towels or soap, just two tiny shampoo bottles. There was visible mold in the shower. The smoke detectors outnumbered the lights. Absolutely brutal. Don't stay here for any reason.

The room was extremely filthy, with spider webs and dead insects everywhere, and remains of human feces in the toilet. The beds, pillows, and blankets had severe stains, including what looked like dried human bodily fluids on the blankets and mattress. I'm alerting people to a bedbug problem. There was no WiFi, and the manager told me to use my phone data to connect. What a disgusting person. We booked through Expedia, but the room we got was a much worse type than the one we had booked, and it didn't match the photos at all. When we complained, the receptionist and manager were extremely rude and irresponsible. They wouldn't change our room or give us a refund, and showed no concern about the infestation. Between the filth, false advertising, and unprofessional staff, I strongly recommend staying far away. This motel is a scam, and Expedia sells people bedbug and scam.
