Executive Suites Hotel Metro Vancouver

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. It’s dated throughout, with odd glass walls and blinds facing the hallways. The rooms are dated too, though the bedroom is a bit newer and alright. My towels were always stained or dirty, my supposedly non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke, and the tables and couch were musty. The pool was too dirty to use, with grime on the bottom, which was one reason I booked here. Housekeeping came into my room several times after knocking and letting themselves in within 5-10 seconds, even when I was in the bathroom. This happened despite my telling them in the hallway a minute earlier that I didn’t need service. When they asked for my towels, I went to hand them over right away, but they had disappeared. I left them in a bag and then heard staff outside the door calling me “stupid.” The front desk staff weren’t friendly or very helpful. Other guests made me feel more uncomfortable than I ever have at a hotel, with constant dirty looks in the hallways and people wearing MAGA hats. That’s not really the hotel’s fault, but it felt very strange for this area. Outside, the area felt safe, with good access to the SkyTrain, food, shops, and more.

The photos of the rooms suggest you might get a good one or a bad one, and I wasn’t willing to risk two weeks here for that price. I ended up booking somewhere else. Management, you can’t charge this much when guests can show pictures of the difference. Bring the poor rooms up to the standard of the better ones, stop using the cheapest contractors, or charge motel rates.

Our complimentary night at the Executive Hotel was perfect, and our guests had a pleasant, enjoyable evening at the wedding. We hosted it in the grand ballroom in Burnaby, where the food was delicious and plentiful and the location was ideal. The team was professional from planning through the event, and the service was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. Special thanks to Maica, Himank, Richard, and the whole team for making our wedding day extra special.

I booked through triviago and had no issues with the reservation. The front desk woman was warm, welcoming, and efficient, so check-in and checkout took hardly any time. The suite was spacious and clean, with a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and basic cutlery and dishes. There’s also a pool and hot tub. I didn’t try the jacuzzi because I generally don’t trust how clean they are. I’d definitely stay at the executive suites again.
