We’ve been coming to Calabogie Lodge for decades as timeshare owners, and we love both the resort and the area. We’ve never had trouble with the staff or the other amenities, and we plan to keep using our timeshare. I hope the repairs happen soon. The unit itself is the problem. Over the past few years, ours has fallen into an unacceptable state of disrepair. Most of the outlets are so loose they won’t hold a plug, which makes charging devices frustrating. The master bedroom’s sliding door has lost much of its insulation, so the room gets very cold on winter nights. The vents in the other rooms can’t be secured properly: when shut to direct heat toward the bedroom, they lift off the floor and still send heat where it isn’t needed. There are smaller issues too. The jacuzzi tub has been out of order indefinitely, even though the unit is advertised with one. We and the other timeshare owners pay annual maintenance fees, and it would be good to see some of that money used to bring the units up to standard.

The beach was a big hit with the kids: sandy, shallow for a long way out, and with play equipment nearby that kept them busy for hours. We also borrowed a canoe for free and paddled over to a neighboring park. There weren’t many motorboats on the water, though that may have been the time of year, and life jackets were available down to infant sizes. Kids’ floaties were available at the indoor pool by the water, too. We had a lovely May long weekend at Calabogie Lodge. We booked a two-bedroom unit and friends took a one-bedroom; both had two bathrooms, large well stocked kitchens, full washers and dryers, and dishwashers. It was nice not having to do dishes on vacation. There was sports gear to borrow as well, including tennis rackets, spike ball, and Frisbees, though we didn’t use it. It felt like good value and was a pleasant drive from Ottawa. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back.

Coming back to relax with a swim after skiing at Calabogie was one of our favorite parts of the Christmas holiday. We had a clean, spacious two-bedroom villa with everything we needed, and several other families were staying too. Everyone had their own villa, but it was easy to walk between them, which worked perfectly for our larger group. Great value for a holiday getaway. We can’t wait to return.

The meal was exquisite, and the chef was exceptional. I felt right at home at Calabogie Lodge, where I stayed with my coworkers, and I’ll definitely be back. Our rooms were warm and inviting, with plenty of room for privacy and quiet time. When we arrived, the front desk agent greeted me with a warm smile and explained the Lodge, how to find my room, and things I could do in my free time, like skating, skiing, and hiking.

Our group included several families in separate units, and everyone seemed to enjoy their stay at Calabogie Lodge. The three-bedroom villa we had was clean and spacious. The kids loved the games room and pool, and they’re already asking when we’ll go back.
