We liked the Somewhere Inn, and the rooms were just as pictured: spacious and modern. The day bed was a favorite, we appreciated the Nespresso machine, and everyone on staff we met was very nice. I imagine it would be better in summer, with the water across the road, since there wasn’t much to do in winter. I’d expected to spend time in the wine bar, but it’s a tiny space that also serves as the lobby and tuck shop, and it closes at 6pm. There are only six seats, three of them on the counter where people pay. At this price, it felt expensive for a nice room with limited amenities. The walls are paper thin, and our neighbors talking at a normal volume woke me a few times. No staff are on site after 6pm, so you can’t use the wine bar space or its limited food offering then. There is a lounge in the basement behind the motel, where the cold plunge was too. That felt awkward when the sauna was outside. The marketing looks stunning and set expectations the place didn’t quite meet, though we did enjoy our stay.

The rooms were clean, bright, and nicely decorated, but we booked mainly for the thermal spa experience, and that was a major letdown. The barrel sauna was fine, but the cold plunge was down the basement stairs, in the lounge area where other people could sit, talk, or play games. It wasn’t relaxing. The website made it look as if the sauna and plunge were outside on a pleasant deck among trees, which wasn’t the case. The spa was very falsely advertised, and it was the main reason we chose this inn. We paid $20 per person for breakfast advertised as overnight oats with fresh fruit, freshly cooked pastry, and juice. My husband and I were excited, but what arrived was four frozen muffins, literally, plus two apples and juice. I texted the number and they quickly brought some “overnight oats,” but it was instant oatmeal with fruit on top in a small container. We were very dissatisfied with the $40 breakfast. For the price of the stay, I’d expected more. The rooms were very nice and clean, but the spa claims were completely false.

We went in winter and enjoyed the sauna and cold plunge. The rooms were quiet, clean, and modern, and the staff were really nice. There was a nice range of treats in the mini fridge and wine bar. We’re going back in summer to see how it feels in another season. Dogs are allowed too, which made traveling much easier.

Room 1 was spacious and comfortable, and the Somewhere Inn Calabogie was extremely clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed except a microwave, which was a small thing. A welcome beer waiting in the room was a lovely touch. After a day exploring, the small sauna and relaxation area with the ice tub were a great way to unwind. We’d happily stay again and can highly recommend the place. It’s beautiful, with great attention to detail and a warm, welcoming feel.

A peaceful, quiet stay in a beautiful place. The rooms were super clean, the beds comfortable, and the fireplace was a highlight. We liked the games in the room, the stocked mini bar and fridge for a fee, and the Nespresso coffee. It was nice not to have a TV and be able to disconnect. Pet friendly too, with cute bowls and a bandana for our pup, though there’s a fee. The body wash and lotion smelled divine. A few things could be better. The $20 breakfast came with store bought juice, an apple, overnight oats, and a gas station muffin, though the oats were excellent. The $40 per night pet fee feels steep; charging per stay would be more reasonable. And for something called a “Scandi spa cycle,” I’d expect an actual spa or hot pool. Still, it’s a lovely, relaxing place, and I’d absolutely return with a few tweaks.
