The staff were pleasant and accommodating, but for the price and the promise of luxury, I expected a lot more. When I arrived, there was a room mix-up. I’d booked a standard room with a king bed or two queens, and showed them the booking, but they said I was assigned a room with one queen. That didn’t work for me, so they moved me to a king room and called it a free upgrade. I’d booked a month earlier, and nobody had contacted me about a problem, despite their claim that they’d tried. I had no calls, texts, or emails. During the deep freeze, our room had no heat, so we had to pack up and move again. The rooms are nice enough, but there’s no cable, so basic news or weather channels aren’t available. Streaming through Prime or Netflix is possible if you can figure out how, but there are no instructions. You have to ask staff for help, and you can’t log into your own account, only someone else’s. After a day at an event off the property, we came back late to find that the room hadn’t been cleaned or replenished. It was too late for cleaning, but I still had to go downstairs for toilet paper and more coffee. For a small, attractive, intimate hotel, the experience fell short of what the price suggested.

The Pond at Mount Alverno made for a magical wedding setting, and the property looked beautiful when it was lit up in the evening. Everything was organized so well. A charming little train carried guests to the ceremony, and the facilities were spotless and well cared for. Complimentary valet parking and the sprinter shuttle between event areas were much appreciated. The staff were attentive and professional, which made the day smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend it for a wedding.

I was so glad I called after another nearby place fell through at the last minute. They took me in without any trouble and gave me a very reasonable rate, so I came back the next week. I also enjoyed the Vista restaurant. The few meals I had used ingredients grown on site and were prepared with care. Thanks to the chef for making me a meal even when I got back from work right as the kitchen was closing. Executive director Chris and director of operations Nigel showed me around and made me feel valued. I wish I’d had more time to hike the lovely woods. They’re expanding and adding amenities, and I’m looking forward to coming back soon. Thanks for such a great experience! Brent

We went to a friend’s wedding at Mount Alverno and were really impressed by the beautiful venue and the view from my room. The bed was clean and very comfortable, and there was a tasty chocolate and fruit plate waiting in the fridge. Breakfast was excellent, with a spread that had something for everyone. I’d highly recommend it for a weekend away or a special event.

Mount Alverno is beautiful and peaceful, but Harpreet’s outstanding service made our stay especially memorable. From arrival until we left, Harpreet was attentive, professional, and ready to help with anything we needed. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who cares so much about their guests, and we’re grateful for the kindness and effort. Our stay was seamless, and we highly recommend Mount Alverno. A big thank you to Harpreet for making it such a great experience!
