Courtyard by Marriott Calgary South

We changed hotels because our usual place called to say its pool was closed, then found the Courtyard’s pool closed too. That wasn’t their fault, but it was frustrating given why we switched. The room felt too small for the price, and the amenities didn’t justify the cost. There’s no microwave, the shower sprays water onto the floor, and the fridge switches off every two hours unless you reset it. Parking costs extra, and there’s no continental breakfast included. Poor value overall.

Kianna and the whole staff were amazing while helping us host our wedding. They guided us on the food and then carried everything through on the day, so the process was seamless. The food was great, the price reasonable, and everyone was so friendly. This is a perfect spot if you’re looking for a wedding venue.

I don’t usually write hotel reviews, even though I travel for work often, but this stay deserved one. I was stranded in Calgary during the Air Canada strike and spent two nights here. The modern room was very clean, and the onsite restaurant served great food with good service. Most of all, the staff and management were helpful and accommodating. They checked in to see if I was comfortable or needed anything, and let me add another night when my flight was canceled. I was very grateful. For context, I’d stayed at the Aloft in downtown Calgary and had the opposite experience. Don’t stay there! I’m looking forward to coming back to the Calgary South location.

I spend a lot of time on the road, and this was one of my best stays. The room was quiet and had everything we needed. Front desk staff asked my daughter how she liked her stay and treated her like a real person, just as they did me. 10 out of 10. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
