This is the worst building I’ve ever lived in. The tap water isn’t reliably clean. As the video shows, black, sticky bits sometimes come out of the kitchen and washroom faucets.

The windows in our high-floor room went all the way to the floor, which made me uneasy about safety. I wouldn’t want little kids playing near them. We pushed the furniture against them to block access. The upper rooms were also unbearably hot without air conditioning. I opened every window and slept naked on the smooth concrete floor, with towels on top as my “bed.” The hallway felt cooler and better ventilated, so leaving the doors open for a while might help even out the temperature. Ice packs or bringing your own fan could help too, but the windows would still need to stay wide open. There was no drinking water, or anything to boil tap water in. I bought a 24-pack of bottled water at a nearby Walmart for my family, and gave a bottle to another tenant who was also complaining about the water. The rooms have no ventilation either. Even with all the windows open and the kitchen exhaust fan running, if someone used the washroom, the whole place smelled like feces for about an hour. I wound up using the properly ventilated lobby washroom instead. We rented a room here with family in the middle of summer. It does have some advantages: it costs significantly less than other places, includes a free buffet breakfast, has friendly, helpful staff, and is near some great restaurants. If your expectations are low and you plan ahead, it might work. I sent an email as requested. (Update, 2026-01-15), hope it helps!

Lovely views from the window, and the room is medium-sized. The location is right in Calgary’s core, so it’s easy to get around. The room and floors are a little rough, though, and it’s street way.

The 24-hour front desk was handy, and transit to the C-Train and bus station is just around the corner. I lived here for an academic year, and it was convenient as a SAIT student. The room was okay, but you could probably find a better place for the same rent.
