The room had a nice view of downtown Calgary, and the hallways are unusually wide for a hotel. The facilities were clean, and the reception staff looked professional and were friendly. We stayed four days and never saw a cleaning cart, so I wondered how they kept up with everything, especially in winter. There are lots of shops nearby, most open until 9 PM or a little later, which is convenient. I'd particularly recommend Macao Imperial Milk Tea store. The hotel seems to have been very good once, and has seen better days, but it's still better than decent. I'd stay again.

For $305 for two nights, I expected more. I think $200 would have felt fairer. Google reviews give it four stars, but the hotel is listed as three stars, and I think that's about right. We stayed at The Glenmore Inn on a Friday and Saturday after booking through Expedia. We'd never been there before, but it was about as far from our destination as a similarly priced Super 8, and we chose it because breakfast was advertised as included. On arrival, the industrial surroundings stood out, then the older building, which didn't look like the website pictures. There was plenty of parking, and the entrance looked nice with its fireplace, but the facility soon showed its age. The staff were friendly, but when I asked about breakfast, I was told I needed to buy a $10 coupon. So it wasn't included. Looking at the reviews, I saw others had raised this and the hotel responds that third-party bookings don't tell them breakfast was wanted, so too bad. They should probably fix that. It was late, so we didn't argue and went to our room in the so-called garden area. The rooms were tidy and clean, but the building needs renovation. It had USB plugs, and not much else. My daughter said it smelled like granny's house, not bad, just old. The toilets were tiny, as if only kids were expected. The heater and air conditioner kept cycling all night, so I switched it off, and the fridge hummed all night too. The bed was comfortable, and the place was as clean as it could be. I think the staff work extra hard to keep it that way. The location was okayish. Even though the people here try hard to make the place nice, we probably won't return. Thanks for the stay.

We went to the Christmas buffet on Tuesday, December 9th, with the ladies from our sorority, and were disappointed because Christmas dinner wasn't being served. The regular buffet served to Seniors the day before Christmas was exactly what we'd wanted. Apparently they serve a Christmas buffet every day for a week, with a different menu each day, not necessarily for Seniors. Our lunch was nice, though: very good roast beef and lamb stew, a salad bar, lots of options, roast potatoes, mixed vegetables, and dessert. If large groups are welcome at this buffet, our organization needs to know the day's menu so we can choose what we want for our luncheon. Disappointed!

The Cafe Garden restaurant is lovely, with a huge open courtyard feel, plants, water features, and beautiful art on the walls. Room service brought delicious eggs benny one morning, with homemade hollandaise, not the packaged kind. The mini mall on site has a Chinese restaurant, diner, deli, thrift store, and other services, plus a cannabis store. It's an older hotel, but feels high end and has been kept in really nice shape. Our air conditioning gave off a bad metallic smell, but staff checked it promptly and moved us to another room. The only downside is the industrial area, where you might hear the steel yard sometimes. It didn't bother us. The beds are super comfortable. We had a great stay.

We stayed in a Jacuzzi room for my partner's birthday weekend. It was really nice, though dated. The hotel itself is on the older side and could use an update, but it's clean and has a high-end feel. We had a great stay and plan to come back.
