Ramada Camrose

We had to find a hotel because of unforeseen circumstances, and I'd never stayed here before. The online photos looked nice and the rate was decent. The front desk lady greeted us promptly and warmly, and the room turned out to be surprisingly spacious. It had the usual TV, mini fridge, desk, and microwave, along with an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. The shower pressure and temperature were just right. The king bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in, with lots of pillows and a cozy duvet. Breakfast was great, with hot omelettes, bacon, hash browns, pastries, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, and different cereals in a welcoming dining area. My favorite part was the French Vanilla yogurt machine with chilled berries and granola. A 10/10 experience, and I'd highly recommend it.

The pool and waterslide were nice, but something jabbed my toe in the pool and the hot pool corners looked pretty mouldy. It seems overdue for a proper cleaning, and I hope I don't get an infection. I'm not coming back. I usually like Ramada, but not this one. We paid $200 for a cramped room, and the heat control made for a sleepless night. At 23 it blew air conditioning and the room was freezing, while at 24 it got sweltering. Then the hotel clock alarm went off at 6am, though I hadn't set it. Breakfast was unsatisfactory too. The eggs seemed days old, there was no fresh fruit or alternative milk, and there were almost no lactose free or gluten free choices beyond some bacon and Chex cereal. I asked the woman at the front for a regular orange pekoe tea bag instead of using the Keurig. She rudely said they had no other tea bags and looked at me like I had three heads. It was very overpriced.

Karen the manager made us feel welcome, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean, and breakfast had lots of choices, including hot food and delicious bacon. We had the best night out with the grandkids. The pool was amazing and the waterslide was a highlight. We can't wait to come back. If you're after a fantastic night out, this is definitely the place to stay. Everything was perfect!

The shower was weak and not very warm, but the beds were nice and the pool was great. The room was pleasant, the place felt cosy and friendly, and the coffee was great. Breakfast was pretty good too.
