The Paddlers' Inn

The owners, especially Karl's son, were lovely and had plenty of helpful local suggestions. Thanks to them, my wife and I found hiking trails and kayaking spots we wouldn’t have known about otherwise. Her favorite tip was Lussier hot springs, where we spent the morning of our 10th anniversary. It was our first time in Canal Flats and the surrounding area, and with few accommodation options, I was lucky to find the Paddlers Inn. Our unit was beautiful, and the scenery around this little gem was amazing. We made wonderful memories and can’t wait to come back.

We got in almost 23:00, later than the suggested check-in time, after driving from Vancouver. Karl had been corresponding with us and was very gracious when we arrived. We’d booked the Guide suite, but the previous party was staying longer than expected, so Karl moved us to the Anglers suite at no extra charge. It was a lovely upgrade, and having laundry in the suite was handy. We’d planned the trip around Lussier Hot Springs and had a fantastic stay. We definitely recommend The Paddlers' Inn to anyone considering Canal Flats.

For a family weekend focused on the lake, this place is a good fit: it’s clean, spacious, tastefully done, close to the lake, and the owners are willing to help. A one-night stay isn’t the best use of it. Also, if having windows is important to you, you might want to reconsider. If you’re happy to spend your time outdoors and in the water, though, this is the place for you!!!

The hosts are so friendly and go above and beyond. The place is always clean and tidy, and the places to stay are beautiful. I’d say it’s the best place to stay within a 100 mile radius.
