Mountain View 1 BR - Full Kitchen-BBQ-AC

We booked at the last minute for an unexpected night and were pleasantly surprised given the price. It's a small, unpretentious property with plain but clean rooms. The beds were comfortable enough, with lots of pillows. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. Ambi, I think, was our check-in clerk and found me a phone charging plug. The gentleman working in the morning helped when we accidentally left something behind. This is basic accommodation with minimal amenities, so I gave it 4 stars. For service, though, they're definitely 5 star. A good fit if you just need a clean, budget room without frills.

What bothered me was the lack of clear information, not the cost itself. There was a mini fridge in the room with snacks, drinks, and chocolates, but at check-in nobody said those items cost extra. A small note on top of the fridge was easy to miss. I later learned each small snack or water bottle costs $3.50, which felt like hidden pricing. In our experience, paid snack and drink fridges are usually outside the room, so it's clear what's included. Items inside the room are normally complimentary. I wish they'd explained the charges when we checked in.

Check-in was smooth, and the staff kindly let us arrive early, but the room made the stay disappointing. The place felt dated and neglected. The TV was so tiny it was barely useful by modern standards. The beds were decent enough for a night's sleep. The bathroom was the biggest problem. There was hair on the floor when we arrived, which really put our kids off; they tried to avoid using the washroom during the stay. The whole space felt unclean, likely because everything was old and worn. The swollen door wouldn't shut fully, so there was no privacy, and the toilet was exceptionally low, awkward to use, as if made for tiny humans. The toiletries were basic and poor quality. The bath towels were absurdly small, barely bigger than hand towels and nowhere near large enough to wrap around a waist, making it inconvenient after a shower. With the cleanliness issues and aging fixtures, we won't return.

It's centrally located, and the rooms are decent, clean, and spacious. I'd recommend choosing a mountain view room, since the others face the car park and nearby buildings. This works for someone who doesn't plan to spend the whole day at the hotel. The property itself isn't cozy: the lobby is tiny and old, the dining room is small, and the hallways look worn.
