Farmhouse Inn B&B

We loved the quiet, scenic winter hiking nearby, and the owners gave us excellent dining suggestions. Breakfast was a real treat, a fresh, homemade three-course meal with locally sourced ingredients, served on locally made or charming thrifted dishes. The hosts made us feel at home right away, like we were visiting friends. They were warm, attentive, and worked around our schedule so we were well looked after. The inn has a lot of character, with thoughtful decor and table settings, and photos tracing the house’s history. Its 1800s heritage has been carefully kept, which made the place feel especially welcoming and authentic. It’s a lovely visit even outside peak wine season. We found plenty of reasons to come back and would happily recommend it.

A great place to stay in Canning, with the shopping area within walking distance. The staff are so nice, and breakfast is delicious and freshly made.

We spent 6 nights in the Mina's Basin suite and were very satisfied. The room was nicely decorated and well appointed, and having coffee and tea available was a real plus for me as a big coffee drinker. Lynn and Rod were wonderful hosts, and breakfast each morning was delicious, made with fresh local ingredients and served in just the right portions. There was some road noise in a front room, so light sleepers may want to pick another location. It didn’t bother us.

The farmhouse was cozy and comfortable, and being in such a beautiful part of Nova Scotia made the stay feel like a step back in time. I loved the warm, friendly service, and the hosts had useful tips on places to visit. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, homemade, and full of local farm-to-table food, which I really appreciate. Main Street got a little busy in summer, but the rest of the experience was so good that I’d gladly stay again and recommend this B&B.
