The 1891 theme feels very authentic, and it’s a beautiful hotel in a great location, close to all the amenities. I do wish they had a continental breakfast and more photos from that era. All in all, a very nice place to stay.

The walk on the beach at sunset was stunning, and the place itself feels like stepping into the past as soon as you enter. There’s so much history here. We loved the quaint, family-friendly atmosphere and the hospitality. Special thanks to Karen for the lovely conversation and breakfast baskets. We can’t wait to visit the heart of Acadia again.

Gerard, the third-generation co-owner, and his wife Karen made our stay especially memorable. They answered all our questions, showed us photos and shared the story of how the hotel was moved from its original site, where it was built in the 1890s, to its current location. They also told us about the decorations and furniture, and even shared their plans for the future. We appreciated their genuine warmth and look forward to staying longer with this wonderful family next time. My wife and I stayed at Hotel Paulin on 6/27/2019, and booked a 3rd Floor room for its ocean view. We loved the old-world decor and charm. Everything was perfect. Dinner and breakfast in the dining room were outstanding. Karen, the chef and co-owner, cooked our whole lobsters perfectly, and the wine and dessert were top-notch. I also want to respond to Mr. Saumur’s negative review about the hotel refusing to let four people squeeze into a boutique room with two double beds. I applaud Gerard for saying no. Hotel Paulin is an upscale place with old-world charm. If you want a flop house with an “all you can eat” attitude, there’s a budget hotel down the road.

We had a great bay view, and the room was very nice. My wife and I stayed for two nights in August. Service was very friendly, and we had dinner one night, which was great. The hotel also sorted out a few missteps more than satisfactorily. We’d definitely come back.

Our room was cozy, with lots of thoughtful touches that made the stay more comfortable. Hôtel Paulin is beautifully kept and decorated, and you can tell it’s run with love. Karen was a great host.
