There’s a Normandin restaurant just 150m away, and we ate there often. The staff were pleasant. We liked being in a calm, quiet town outside Quebec City, especially at a fraction of what larger hotels cost. Our suite was surprisingly spacious for us and our four kids, with two full beds and a pull-out couch. It was clean and looked recently refreshed. We had a lovely two-night stay over Christmas. A couple of things were inconvenient: there’s no microwave in the room, so I kept going to the shared kitchen downstairs to warm bottles and food for the babies. There’s soap and a T-towel there for washing up, which is cute, but not very handy when you’re upstairs. The TVs aren’t smart, and my Fire Stick wouldn’t work with their settings, so the kids had to watch whatever random cartoons they could find on cable.

The friendly, polite staff were the best part of our stay. The room, on the first floor, felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, and we’d booked one large bed but got two small ones. Changing rooms would have cost another $60. At $125 a night already, that felt overpriced. Snow clearing started right outside around 5 a.m., with loud shoveling and knocking that made sleep impossible. For the price, the hotel didn’t feel worth it.

After a long drive, the clean, comfortable room was just what we needed. Having a nice restaurant conveniently attached was a bonus and made it easy to settle in. Friendly service and good value, a solid stay for the price.

Getting to the property was a bit challenging because of ongoing construction, but once there, the room was comfortable and easy to reach, with parking right at the door. The neighbouring restaurant was only a quick walk away. My son and I enjoyed our stay, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Samantha (?) noticed my note asking about nearby gluten-free restaurants and gave me a list with her comments, along with her direct number in case we needed it. I’ve already recommended the Hotel to friends.

We were travelling overnight between Halifax and Ontario and found this place through a Facebook recommendation. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfy, and it was easy to get to. Our truck and trailer wouldn’t fit in the lot, but there was lots of free parking behind it at the arena. We walked to a nearby bird migration spot on the Fleuve, by the ferry dock, to stretch our legs. Dinner at the restaurant on site was yummy. It’s not the Hilton, but it suited us perfectly, and we appreciated the price. Highly recommend!
