Days Inn By Wyndham Montmagny

After a week on the road, this was a lovely place to rest and recharge. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we liked reading and unwinding around the pool and atrium. Vicky at the front desk was a huge help and booked us a second night right then. She also makes a great cosmopolitan 😉. We’ll definitely return when we’re in the area.

We were happy with the room and the hotel’s location, but having to chase down the folding bed was disappointing. I’d requested one for an extra charge, and the hotel confirmed it two days before arrival. We checked in around 8 p.m. and confirmed it again, but it wasn’t in the room. The front desk said they’d take care of it. An hour later, it still hadn’t arrived, so I went back and explained that my granddaughters needed to sleep. The woman called maintenance to request it again. On my way back, a maintenance man was rolling the bed to our door. He didn’t make eye contact or acknowledge me, just walked away without a word. Luckily, there was bedding with it, so we made it up and got the kids to bed. I was very disappointed that we had to ask repeatedly, and that the bed wasn’t ready and made up when we arrived.

We were a little worried about having to use our terrible French in this very French part of QC, but all the staff were happy to switch to English when needed. The rooms aren’t especially modern, but they’re tidy, clean, and have the essentials. We were impressed by the well-kept grounds, the two pools, level 2 and 3 EV charging, and how friendly everyone was. The restaurant meal, wine, and service were excellent. This charming independent hotel in a beautiful small town was meant to be an overnight stop on a long journey, but it felt welcoming, relaxed, and comfortable all around.

This was our first stop on a trip around the Gaspe peninsula, and we had a very enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable, well equipped, and looked after. I only wish I’d researched the room choice more carefully: ours looked onto a grass embankment, while an interior room would have faced the spectacular, unusual tropical setting of the pool area.
