Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA

Our room had a spectacular view, a comfy bed and a lovely feel, and the price was excellent value. The location is central but quiet. Staff went above and beyond for my daughter's birthday, leaving chocolates and a card. The front desk also helped us find a pool we were allowed to use while the hotel's own pool was being renovated. We didn't end up using it, which was my one disappointment. We'll be back.

My wife and I planned on four nights, but enjoyed the hospitality and the hotel's proximity to attractions, shopping and food enough to add two more. Most places we wanted to see were within walking distance, so we could combine sightseeing with exercise. We also loved evening walks along the water on the board. One night we hadn't set the thermostat properly and felt a bit cold. The front desk quickly sent extra bedclothes and a blanket, checked the thermostat and showed us the result. The room stayed warm and comfortable after that. Our most memorable evening was Christmas Eve at the in-house blue crab seafood house restaurant. We heard lively cello music from the dining room while passing through the lobby and were drawn in by the setting. The restaurant was fully booked, but after seeing our disappointment, the receptionist asked us to wait 15 minutes while she tried to find a place. She seated us by a window, with a mesmerizing view of the ocean and lights at night. After enjoying our carefully prepared main courses, we ordered 10 oysters and received a lovely tray of 12, with two extra at no charge. We were very touched by the staff's kindness.

The restaurant was delicious, and its prices weren't bad for a fancy place. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the little bathroom amenities provided, and housekeeping cleaned daily and brought extra towels when we needed them. It's a beautiful hotel right on the water. We didn't get a chance to try the pool or hot tub.

The staff were amazing, and we loved the pool and hot tub. Julia was fantastic when she checked us in. Our room felt new, was comfortable and nicely laid out, with beautiful ocean views. The location was a big part of the appeal: beside fisherman’s wharf and around a 10-minute walk to the Parliament building, or maybe 15 minutes to downtown. It's a quiet, nice neighbourhood, away from the bustle but still close by. I'll definitely be back!
