The owner was happy to welcome our cat, after we’d called a bunch of motels, hotels and B&Bs that advertised as pet friendly but wouldn’t take her. We called from an hour away, and the owner held a room for us on our word alone. I’d definitely stay again. The place looks a bit run down from outside and may be dated, but the inside is clean and cosy. The rooms are spacious, the bed is comfy, and you can tell the owners take pride in it. It feels quaint and homey, with great energy. This “2 star” motel has been nicer than most 3-4 star places I’ve stayed. If you want a new 5 star hotel, expect to pay three times as much. I’ve stayed at beautiful luxury resorts that didn’t put the same effort into making guests comfortable.

There weren’t any rooms available when I arrived, anywhere in Castlgar, but they let me pitch my tent in their lovely gazebo for the night and check in the next morning. The nearby train tracks never bothered me. It’s a wonderful little motel, with clean, nice rooms at a budget price and really kind owners. I enjoyed my stay and will come back next time I’m in Castlgar.

I think this is an awesome emergency shelter for people who are unfortunately homeless. Without somewhere safe and comfortable to sleep, it can be almost impossible to look for work or housing when all your energy goes into getting through the day. A good emergency shelter gives people a much better chance to improve their situation.

We stopped in without a reservation while traveling through BC and needed a room for the night. It was a little pricey, but the room made it worthwhile: super clean and large. A higher-end 2 star motel. Loved it, thank you!

The owners were really nice and helpful, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and everything worked. We got a very affordable senior rate even at the height of the season. It was a great stay, and I’d come back.
