The room setup seems to vary, and some rooms are better equipped than others. There’s a shared space with a stove, sink, and fridge. Mine had its own clean, modern bathroom and a fridge, and the shower stayed hot. The beds were the weak point: both in my room were uncomfortable, for different reasons. It’s among the better places to stay in Chapleau, despite a few small annoyances. The house is among a small cluster of homes, so getting around on foot takes a while. And just as we were settling in around 6 PM, the lawn was being cut. The gas smell got into my room, so I had to close the windows.

I had a great stay at the Crestview Guest House. The room was right in town and had everything I needed, like home. The host was kind, easy to reach, and really helpful. I appreciated that a lot, and would definitely recommend renting his property.

The room was clean and sparsely furnished, and the bed was okay. There wasn’t any air conditioning, just a fan on the desk and TV stand for air circulation. The bathroom description is misleading: “private bathroom” only means you can shut the door while using the facilities. With 20 guests sharing two toilets and two showers, that felt inadequate. It’s an okay cheap stay, though for a little more, you can get a room with its own bathroom elsewhere.

The renovated super deluxe room with a private bathroom went beyond what I expected. It was quiet and centrally located in Chapleau, and a good affordable choice if you’re in town. Clean room, comfy bed, and a hot shower.
