It’s a college dorm, so you won’t find many of the amenities you’d expect in a hotel. The low price reflects that. Our room had two separate bedrooms and a small kitchen, but no cooking gear or dishes, so it would’ve been hard to use the kitchen if we’d stayed long enough. The location is very good, within walking distance of downtown Charlottetown.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment close to the city centre, and it was economical and very clean overall. The furnishings are sparse and dated. Each bedroom has a double bed and a window AC unit. Ours faced the street on the main level, so it was a bit noisy, but earplugs helped. The kitchen has appliances but no cooking or eating items. Reception can lend you a kitchen box with dishes, utensils, and a frying pan. There’s a dining table with two chairs, but no sofa in the apartment. There is a shared lounge, though. Breakfast is basic, with bagels, white bread, cereal, yogurt, some fruit, and coffee, and the small breakfast area gets crowded. Free parking is available in the lot across the street.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the college residence hall was very clean. There’s a good amount of space and a decent kitchenette, which would’ve been a real plus if we’d stayed longer. It’s also convenient and within walking distance of many town sights. I’m giving service four stars because the continental breakfast selection felt limited. They had only everything bagels, Cheerios, and Fruit Loops, none of which I’m a fan of, though the fresh fruit was nice.

The dorm rooms are small and have double beds, but they do the job, and the cost is low. There’s a huge parking lot in front, and downtown isn’t far. Each room has AC, and there’s a fridge, oven, and microwave. If you want to cook, you have to borrow supplies at the entrance, since the kitchen doesn’t have anything to cook with. There are just two chairs at the table, and the staff are super friendly. Breakfast runs from 6:30 to 10:00, with bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, boiled eggs, and coffee. I was told the place is available to rent from early June to nearly the end of August. If you’re on a budget, this is the place to rent.

The two-bedroom suite was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Still, it wasn’t worth $180. The shower barely got above body temperature, there were no bedside lamps, and the outdoor safety light was so bright it woke me at 2, making me think it was morning.
