Royalty Maples Cottages & Motel

WOW, what a cozy little find for just my husband and me. We stayed one night on 28Sep25, during the off season, when we were visiting PEI. It’s modern and extremely clean, and I’m so glad we found this gem!

I was really disappointed by how this ended. I booked through Expedia and paid in full months ahead, but at check-in they said nothing had been paid. I showed my receipt, reservation, and credit card statement. They then accepted that payment had been made, but still required a $250 deposit on my Visa. I was told it was only a hold and would be refunded. The cottage was nice and the stay itself was good. We left it spotless, but I was charged the damage deposit and never got my $250 back. When I called, she agreed we’d left the place clean and said the charge would be reversed within two weeks. After three weeks there was still no refund. I called week after week, emailed, and messaged through Expedia and Facebook, but got no answer. I was ghosted, and the deposit was never returned. Be careful. The stay was nice, but we were scammed.

They told me they’d issue a refund, then quickly blocked me because they didn’t like me getting angry with them. They’re not the easiest people to deal with. Check the negative reviews.

The cottage was exactly as described, clean and modern, with two bedrooms. The front desk staff member was so helpful, and daily housekeeping kept us supplied with fresh towels and dishcloths. We had lovely weather and spent plenty of time on the patio. It was easy to get around the island from here, and the price was great. We had a fantastic four-night stay at Royalty Maples.
