The Wilshire Inn

A quiet spot that’s convenient for getting around town, and good value for money. The room was well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout. I had a great stay at Wilshire Inn Hotel and would definitely return.

The location and price were good, but the check-in experience put me off. We arrived at 6:00 pm to find the front door locked. We called the number provided three times without an answer, rang a doorbell that we later learned didn’t work, and knocked loudly. We were just about to drive away when a woman finally answered. Apparently there’s only one employee working in the entire hotel from 3:00pm to 10:00pm, so I’d hate to have an issue overnight. Our room was reasonably clean, thankfully, though the bathroom smelled strongly of Chinese food. I’ll probably stay somewhere else next time I’m in Claresholm.

I had a really enjoyable stay. The staff were kind and accommodating, and I’d recommend the place for future visits, whether short or long.

There wasn’t much presence at the front desk. There was a fight outside the hotel on the first night, and an empty liquor bottle, mix, and blood were left in the entrance area. It wasn’t cleaned up until mid-morning. The mattress needs replacing, as it has a hole.
