Comfort Inn Cobourg - Port Hope

For $230, I spent one night and slept like a baby. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the place quiet. I slept better there than at the Fairmount york, where I paid $450 a night for six months. Next time I’m in Toronto, I’ll choose Comfort inn for sure.

The room had no ventilation or airflow and smelled bad. This is a basic motel with no class, and there are some really sketchy guests. I can’t believe they charged $300 for a second-floor room with no elevator. The Best Western five minutes away is much better and costs less. Shameful place. I won’t stay here again.

After driving all day through a heat wave in a car without AC, my daughter and I got a very welcome cool room on the ground floor, with a queen bed and sofabed. The room AC worked great, check-in took under two minutes, and we both slept really well in the extremely comfortable bed. The room and hallways were clean and smelled nice, and we felt safe with both the regular lock and an extra security bar on the patio door. The shower pressure was strong. Near the front desk there was a good choice of drinks: chilled lemon water, hot or cold coffee from a machine, and cold apple and orange juice. Breakfast was good too, with cereal, breads, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, instant oatmeal, waffles you make yourself, muffins, bagels, and potatoes. I’d definitely stay again next time I visit Cobourg.

The breakfast had everything we wanted, though the dining area was a bit cramped. We made it work alongside the other guests. The room was clean and had what we needed, including a small fridge and freezer that worked well for refreezing our cooler ice packs. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had a great shower with strong pressure. A nice place to rest if you’re passing through.
