Joanne was pleasant, but the stay was disappointing in every other way. The Cycle Inn felt cluttered, with very little room to move around, and our pet-friendly room had stuff filling the space beyond the bed. We arrived very late and found a bed more like a futon, with thin, patched sheets. Having our own bathroom was nice, at least. We’d prepaid for two nights and planned to stay three. The violin wake-up at 8am and a less than desirable breakfast on the first morning made us decide quickly to skip the third night. We passed on breakfast the next morning, packed up and left.

Thanks again, Joanna, for being such a great host at the Cycle Inn. We love your pooch Merlin. The spot worked perfectly for cycling the Galloping Goose trail in either direction, and Glen Lake’s view and peacefulness were a bonus. A few minutes west there’s a nice little area for shopping and eating, with well known restaurants and coffee shops. Mechosen is about 30 to 40 minutes southeast, depending on the route, and locals love the My Chosen Cafe'. The food was really good. I especially enjoyed the Halibut and chips and Dark Matter beer.

Joanne was welcoming and made our three-night Victoria long weekend comfortable. The house has character and sits by the lake. It isn’t modern, but it’s cozy, with peaceful surroundings and a convenient location that made getting around easy. We’d stay again, and I’d recommend it to other travelers. Thanks, Joanne, for the hospitality and warm muffins each morning! ☕

We paid 200$ a night and found a dirty room and dusty surroundings. The host didn’t give us the room we’d booked, and the online pictures didn’t match it. We were moved to an attic with just a bed in it. The kitchen was so messy and dirty that we couldn’t use it. We ended up cooking on our camp stove in the trunk of our car. What a scam, and not a beautiful one!
