Comfort Inn

I paid far too much for a sleepless night and what I believe is a contagious fungal infection. I developed ringworm on the exposed areas that touched the bed linens, including my head, neck, and arms. The room smelled so strongly of marijuana that I had to leave, and spent most of the night trying to sleep in my car. I didn’t feel comfortable showering or undressing to try to sleep there. As a woman travelling alone, I was put in a room beside a wide-open security door, with people who looked sketchy hanging around. I complained and someone shut it, but it was open again four minutes later. The sliding door was secured only with a U lock, its own lock didn’t work, and the inside sliding door wouldn’t close or lock. There were no security bars or piece of wood to secure it further. The inside hall door showed signs of repeated break-ins. My updated room was still dirty. I’ve since read reviews describing these as long-standing problems. A woman at the gas station down the street told me she hears complaints about the place every day. Save your money, health, and peace of mind. There’s no comfort here.

We won’t be coming back. The final straw was being refused a refund after I accidentally made a double booking through a third-party website. There’s new management, and the experience is nothing like it was years ago. The rooms are acceptable, but breakfast has gone downhill drastically. They used to offer boiled eggs; now the fried ones are soggy with water and oil. There’s no functioning gym or pool anymore. The gym is covered in mold, and I believe the pool didn’t pass inspection. There’s a strong mold smell around the gym and even in the breakfast room. A very disappointing stay.

Good value, with a comfortable, clean king room on the ground floor. Parking out front is a little strange, but there’s plenty around the side and back. Breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage, juice, a waffle maker, and more. It’s not a Hampton Inn, though there’s one next door, but this was something like $75 a night cheaper.

I chose this Comfort Inn because I was willing to pay more for a hotel with breakfast. Monday morning wasn’t bad, and the woman working was very friendly. There was food out. Sunday was a completely different story. We came down just after 9am, with breakfast running until 10am, and there was no hot food, just water left in a pan. The cereal was gone, the fridge was empty, and there was no yogurt or anything else. We had to fight over the two pieces of toast left, then gave up and bought breakfast elsewhere. The woman working that morning looked like she’d fallen asleep while wiping tables, mumbled as she left, and didn’t seem to care or restock anything.
