The Christmas decorations made the place feel especially cozy, and even the hotel smelled like Christmas. We had a wonderful time, with kind people everywhere, from housekeeping and the front desk to breakfast service and maintenance. It fit our budget, covered what we needed, and included an airport shuttle. Such a memorable visit. I’d love to come back.

We arrived around midnight, and our clean room was ready with no check-in problems. The night manager was really helpful, and so were the staff we called before getting there. Breakfast was just what they advertised, and the food was delicious.

The rooms are spacious, but they’re old and need some care. The carpets were stained, the towels old and thinning, and the shower temperature kept swinging from warm to scalding hot because the dial was so finicky. I remember Abercorn being a good hotel years ago, but now I wouldn’t stay more than a night or maybe two. There’s no room cleaning included, either. Calling the breakfast a buffet feels like an insult. There were eggs, some fruit, yogurt, bread, and half croissants and half chocolate muffins from Costco across the street, but no bacon or sausage. Very cheap. One woman seemed to be cleaning the same spots over and over, sometimes with a rag and sometimes without one. She didn’t rinse or change it, and then used it on the tables too. Saddest breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been to some places. The hotel is relatively inexpensive, and it’s clear why. Cheers!

That Chinese restaurant in the same building is fabulous. It was packed the night we were there. I’ve stayed at the Abercorn twice in 2025 and will definitely go again. It’s dated, but both rooms were very clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. I spend most of my time there with my eyes closed anyway! It’s a handy stop before an early flight out of YVR or after a late arrival. The free shuttle starts at 5 AM, and you can book a spot. The hotel is about 700 meters from Bridgeport SkyTrain station, with an easy walk across the Costco parking lot.
