Ramada in Kelowna has great service. Here, though, I’m sitting in the lobby looking at an empty parking lot and reading the reviews, and now I see why it’s empty. I travel a lot for work and usually call ahead if I arrive early to ask whether my room is ready. I understand when early check-in isn’t possible, no problem. But the room was ready here and they still wanted $25 for early check-in. Not a good spot to stay.

The included breakfast was served at Ricks diner next door, where we also had dinner. Both were very good. We stopped for one night on our road trip between Banff and Osoyoos, and found the room large, comfortable, and very clean. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel felt newer than it is because it’s been so well looked after. I’d definitely recommend it.

The place was average, and at $220 for one night it didn’t feel worth the price. I stayed in early October. It’s out on the edge of town, and once the restaurant and lounge closed at 9 pm there wasn’t anywhere nearby to go without taking the roughly 10-minute ride into town. The cable TV wouldn’t work until I called the front desk for a code, and I had to call three times. There was no complimentary water, though breakfast was included and just okay.

The front desk ladies were friendly, but I didn’t feel treated like an individual paying customer. I brought my son as part of his hockey team and wasn’t told when booking that the policies changed. I couldn’t cancel and would have been charged the full price for both nights either way. They also refused me the food vouchers for the restaurant next door, and my card was charged two weeks before the booking. I’d rather have stayed down the road, and I won’t stay at another Ramada. This reflects on management and staff.

As a queer couple, with me being very obviously trans, we were treated so well. It was my wedding and we had the most amazing welcome and stay. Absolutely amazing experience, with phenomenal service.
