White On Wood

I woke up smiling after the best sleep I've had in ages. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and so were the locally made comforters. We opted for dinner, and it was fantastic. Brad spent much of the day cooking, and even my finicky son polished off his food. I especially loved the fresh cod and beef stew. Brad and Cheryl made me feel right at home, and every detail felt just right. Brad clearly loves the island and its people. I've been telling friends and family about this place ever since. Don't miss this gem.

The beds were comfortable and the location was decent, but the lack of privacy completely ruined our stay. We booked the house through airbnb expecting to have it to ourselves. Instead, it felt like some kind of unusual hotel. Brad and Cheryl came into the house whenever they wanted, including at 10 PM while we were getting ready for bed. The breakfast options also seemed overpriced for what you got, since we could have bought everything for much less at the nearby supermarket. If you don't mind the hosts being around constantly and having little privacy, you may still enjoy it.

We didn't stay at the place, but Brad is a friend of my brother Jeff. He recommended Doyle Sansome and Sons Lobster pool, where we had the best meals of our whole tour of Newfoundland. The seafood pasta sauce was so delicious I wanted to lick the bowl, and there was so much seafood that I ran out of pasta before finishing it. The servers were very friendly. My daughter said it was the best pasta she's ever had.

Such a beautiful place, with lovely scenery and people. Can't wait to come back and see the summer view!
