Always a blast coming back here. It’s right at the bottom of the trails in the heart of Cumberland, and has everything you could need. The staff are fantastic and really accommodating, with a special shoutout to Jen for going above and beyond. Rooms and washrooms are super clean, and the shared spaces are immaculate. There’s a huge kitchen, a pool table, and secure bike storage too.

I’ve stayed at the Roding Fool a number of times. It’s clean, has a great atmosphere, and the hosts are amazing. If you mountain bike, you’ve probably heard of it.

It’s a handy central spot, with the brewery and coffee shop just down the road. Our bunk room had lots of room for a hostel, the beds were comfortable, and the bedding was decent. There’s a well equipped kitchen and a spacious lounge, plus showers with good pressure and a reasonable amount of water. A very nice place if you’re in town to mountain bike and won’t be spending much time in your dorm.

The kids loved the bunk beds, and the place itself was quiet, clean, and tidy. There were three shared bathrooms for eight private rooms, plus a big communal kitchen and a living room and games room. It had an old school feel. I hadn’t stayed in a hostel before and had assumed this was a hotel when we booked for our family of five, including kids aged 3, 7, and 9. We were surprised to arrive and find no bathroom, air conditioner, or other amenities in our room. As a hostel, it deserves a good review, though I wouldn’t give it five stars as a hotel. The price felt a bit high for what it was, almost $300 after tax. I probably wouldn’t stay again because I’d want a private bathroom. Next time I’ll pay more attention to that extra “S” in “hotel” when booking :)

The massive kitchen and living area and secure bike storage make this a perfect bike hostel. It’s right at the bottom of the trails, and it’s definitely the nicest hostel I’ve stayed in.
