The staff were friendly and did their best to help, and housekeeping changed towels, made the bed, and vacuumed daily. They also took $25 off as an apology for the inconvenience. Still, the building and rooms are quite old, with plenty of wear and damage, and the cleaning missed visible dust above eye level. Breakfast was disappointing during my 11-night stay: bacon appeared only once, and yogurt was often unavailable.

We were given $25 off the bill, but the rest of the night was awful. Children were screaming and running between the first and third floors, and families there for hockey didn’t seem concerned about their safety. When the elevator opened, six kids were there, including one trying to climb into the shaft. We complained at the front desk, but nothing was done. There was no quiet until after 10:30pm, and at least 20-30 parents were openly drinking in the hallways. It was incredibly disrespectful to people trying to have a romantic evening. We also had to pay for the room ourselves after staff said our friend’s card for Valentine’s Day had been declined. We could get reimbursed, so that part wasn’t a big deal. I wouldn’t come back.

I stayed the night of Team Canada’s gold medal game and got up at five, only to find the game channel wasn’t available. The front desk couldn’t locate it, and the cheap HiSense TV was difficult to operate. It only showed music and Punjabi channels, and the night auditor didn’t know how to use it. Not having the men’s national team’s game was unbelievable. That TV is a disgrace. Improve Stonebridge.

The comfortable bed and nice pool should have made this a five-star stay. Instead, the bedroom mirror was covered in smudges, the shampoo bottle was empty, and the towels were so worn they were coming apart and should have been replaced. These are easy things for a housekeeping manager to catch if they’re doing their job.
