Chalets du bout du monde

We all enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after days on the trails or out on the water. There are complimentary bikes for riding on the Route de Verte, and kayaks too, though those seemed better suited to kids or people under 6ft. The view of Douglas town is peaceful and calming, with little noise pollution for stargazing. We also had fun roasting dogs and Marshmallows over the campfire. The chalets at Chalets du Bout du Monde are rustic and cozy, with washing amenities and what you need for a relaxing vacation. My one suggested improvement would be a better sectional couch and cushioned dining chairs.

I came from Italy having only ever seen this kind of chalet in movies, so finding one surrounded by trees with a beautiful view of the water felt like a dream. The colors of nature outside and the warmth and comfort inside were just lovely. Our “Iris” was very clean and had everything we needed. Outside, there was a table, BBQ, fireplace, hammock, and bikes and kayaks to use, which made being outdoors even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

We were lucky to get a cancellation, since these cabins are booked up until September. We stayed in cabin #4 L'Iris, with access to the water. It had two bedrooms, a bathroom, washer and dryer, and a kitchen with everything we needed. The small TV area had books and a couple of games. There’s no air conditioning, but they provide fans. Outside were a small BBQ, hammock, picnic table, and firepit, though no spa. We didn’t use the kayaks or bikes, but there were plenty available. The cabins feel quite private, although you’ll hear a loud neighbor. Haldimand Beach is nearby and awesome, and Gaspe is a short drive away. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay by the bay. The cottage was surprisingly spacious and had almost everything we needed. It’s also well located for exploring the surrounding area.
