Badlands Motel

The price was pretty good compared with other places in town, and the new concrete walkways in front of the units are nice. It’s an older motel, but they’re doing renovations bit by bit. The beds were good. The TV felt too small, the linens were old, and the shower curtains still had mold spots despite looking laundered. We had children with us and didn’t like people smoking cigarettes and cannabis right at the front of each unit. Renovation materials have also been left beside the rooms for quite a while, and the area needs clearing up.

We ask that they give this matter sincere and prompt attention. ---------------------------------- A metal piece was sticking out from under the bed and seriously injured my young son. The floors were so dirty that the bottoms of my brand-new paper slippers turned black after one night. There was a small table and ashtray outside each room, and marijuana odor came through the gap beneath the door. The place was filthy and disgusting, by far the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. I wouldn’t come back even if it were free.

I chose this motel for a licensed late-night event at the museum, since I could walk from there to the event shuttle loop. The service was great, and the linens and bathroom were super clean. The room wasn’t haunted, which is all I ask when I stay somewhere cheap and make it through the night! There’s a perfect little diner connected to the motel for breakfast. They were also upfront about the one or two little beetles that swarm small towns this time of year. I promise, the beetles left me alone while I slept.

The homemade food at the restaurant was fantastic and reasonably priced, and the service was great, from the chamber maids to reception and restaurant staff. I travelled with several dogs, and they accommodated every request I made. The Badlands Motel takes real pride in making guests comfortable away from home. I had an enjoyable stay and would gladly recommend it to anyone travelling in the area. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks so much, everyone!
