Canterra Suites Hotel

Having the extra space made a real difference for our family of five, and the price was excellent. We booked a two-bedroom king suite while my oldest daughter was having surgery at the Stollery in Edmonton. We chose Canterra for the location and room size, and it worked out really well. The suite was very clean and well cared for, with a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, cutlery, and even a washer and dryer. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly. The underground parking was handy, though the layout is a little unusual and your vehicle needs to fit the height limit. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it to larger families.

The pillows were the weak point: one big and lumpy, the other too small and soft. It can also get noisy at night since the building is on a busy main street. But the rooms are spacious apartments, and having a washer and dryer in each one was really nice.

There are grocery stores, restaurants, and fast food nearby, and the kitchen and living room mean you don’t have to eat out the whole trip. The rooms are large and lovely, with separate bedrooms, which worked great for a big group that didn’t want to share beds. It was very quiet, and they allow pets for a fee. I’ll stay again.

I had to spend a few weeks in Edmonton while family was in the hospital, and getting to and from UofA was an easy drive. The room was comfortable and had a full kitchen, but the compassionate staff really stood out. When a couple of things came up during my stay, they took care of them and made things right.
