The hotel is dated, but the bed was super comfortable and the staff were great. We stayed for the “Dark at fort edmonton park” and it was 100% worth it. I don’t think the hotel is open just anytime, so if you’ve got an event down at the park, staying this close is worthwhile for a good night’s sleep. We’ll definitely stay again when we can.

We came for a late Christmas party, and it was our first time here. The food and service were fantastic, and we even got to go on a horse sleigh ride! Can’t wait to come back in summer and see more of the park.

The room was fine and guest services were terrific. The continental breakfast, though, was truly pathetic, and that’s why the service review isn’t better. They advertised “freshly baked muffins and pastries,” but they weren’t. There was just black tea and coffee, no water or juice. Not everyone wants caffeine first thing, and other guests were unhappy about it too.

The atmosphere during the annual Dark event for halloween was great, and the rooms were nice, but the rest of the stay left me unhappy. Drinks cost $13 each and the food was terrible. We paid $500 for the room and tickets, but breakfast was only a few pastries and gross, cheap coffee. At check-in they took a $50 deposit and said it would be returned the next morning. It’s been a week and I still haven’t got it. I’ve been calling since monday, but nobody at the front desk answers, and there’s no way to leave a message. It feels like they take your money and then won’t answer calls.

The manager got in touch afterward and offered either a free night or a refund. I gratefully accepted the refund and the free passes she provided. Thank you. We had come for a relaxing weekend, but left just 2 hours after checking in because of the noise from a wedding. If we’d known about it, we wouldn’t have booked. The reception was in the main entrance area, so to get outside and back we had to walk across the wedding dance floor. It was awkward for us and everyone there. The check-in area had all its chairs removed for the wedding, leaving an empty room, and the bar had no atmosphere, pictures, music or antiques. There was also nothing open for food after 5, so be ready to order in or go elsewhere. We told the front desk person we were leaving and why. She said, “we can't give you a refund”. I hadn’t expected one, but hoped anyway. Management should post wedding bookings on the website, or offer refunds to guests affected by them. It’s unfair to expect people to put up with this without warning. We’d looked forward to the visit, but came away 200 bucks lighter and disappointed.
