Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Edmonton/West

I appreciated Lily changing our booking to an accessible room for my disabled sister. Breakfast was great, and the staff member there was very helpful. The pool was closed for maintenance, which we understood, though the timing was unfortunate. I’m giving four stars because I left things in the fridge and was told they’d been thrown out within a few hours of checkout. I was shocked that this is the hotel’s usual practice. With prices as they are, I wish unopened items were kept for at least 24 hours. I understand disposing of leftover food, but this felt incredibly wasteful.

Breakfast is advertised as running until 10:00, but at 9:45 staff had already taken away the pastries, bread, bagels, and yogurt, there was no juice, and the waffle mix was unavailable. When I asked, I was told breakfast was over, even though the posted time had another 15 minutes to go. For a place offering “free” breakfast, they need to organize it better. We also had dinner plans with friends staying at the hotel, but their door wouldn’t latch. Maintenance spent 45 minutes picking at it. I went over, borrowed their tools, and fixed it in 35 seconds. The clerk said I’d be compensated, but that never happened. On Friday night, Feb 13th, kids were running and making noise in the hallways, and staff did nothing to quiet things down.

Really good stay. Breakfast was included and delicious, and both the room and bathroom were clean. Definitely recommended.

We were here for six nights and had a great time. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious, the kids loved the pool, and the gym was new, clean, and well equipped. The location worked well, and you can tell the team cares about guests. We’ll come back next time we’re in Edmonton.
