Peterboro Express Inn

I stayed for 3 nights because nowhere nearby had a vacancy, and the price was extremely low. The motel had several odd problems, including very poor wifi and a shower cold water faucet that didn't work. But the reason for my negative review is BED BUGS. I have bites all over my body. I met the owners when I brought up the shower issue, and they were very nice. I'm pretty sure they don't know there's an infestation, but I still would have much rather slept in my car.

The room stayed cold all night, with no way to adjust the temperature. The beds were clean but not very comfortable, the sink didn't drain normally, and there was a bit of a strange smell. Service was okay, though a little odd. I really wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone.

We had never stayed somewhere this bad. The rooms are big, but packed with dated furniture, the cable didn't work, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out. There were unpleasant smells everywhere, too. And the insects! I've never seen so many different kinds. For the first time in my life, I wished I knew more about bugs while lying awake at night.

We barely slept on our second night there, and the stay was awful from the start. Our room was clean, but there was nowhere to hang clothes, no table, and just one uncomfortable chair. The clerk said there was Wi-Fi, but it wouldn't connect. Her advice was to open the window for a signal, in the middle of winter. After our second evening appointment, we went to visit the two friends staying at the other end of the property. When I switched on the bathroom light, cockroaches scattered. One stayed on the wall, which was creepy. It was too late to find another motel, and we'd already booked two nights, so we went back to our room. It had snowed and rained overnight. Around 10 am, one of us went to tell the clerk about the roaches, but slipped on the completely icy sidewalk outside their room because it hadn't been cleared or salted. She made it to the office, couldn't find anyone at first, and eventually located the clerk. When she tried to mention the ice, the woman yelled at her and accused her of lying instead of thanking her for the information. Later, as we were leaving, another friend slipped in the icy parking lot and fell. She was badly bruised and had trouble getting around for about a week. It's not somewhere I'll return to or recommend. The price was very cheap, but spending a little more for peace of mind would have been worth it.
