The pool and hot tub were basically unusable because of the ventilation noise. It was unbearably loud, easily over 80 dB, and gave me a headache within minutes. The constant mechanical sound made it impossible to relax in the hot tub, enjoy the pool, or use the nearby workout area. The whole space was uncomfortable and frustrating. We told the staff, but they said nothing could be done. That’s unacceptable when a loud, poorly maintained ventilation system that needs servicing or lubrication makes the main amenities unusable. The price may look attractive, but the amenities make this hotel not worth it. If you’re booking for the pool, hot tub, or fitness area, avoid it until they properly address this. Management needs to treat it as an urgent maintenance and guest experience problem.

A few nights ago, I went in to ask about the rates, and Mitzy Shim helped me. She was friendly, respectful, and had a big smile. She knows her guests well and bravely turns away unwanted visitors to help keep them safe. She’s a great person to have working nights, and I know I can stay there peacefully without worrying. Thank you, Mitzy, for caring for your guests and giving such great service.

The conference center and Monsoon bar are nice, and my room was clean, though dated. The staff were good during my stay, and I’m sure they hate hearing complaints about the trains. Still, be aware they pass by often and sound like a broken washing machine in the next room, even with ear plugs. Apparently you can ask for a quieter room on the west side. West is Best.

The hotel is quite old, and the windows and bathroom show it, though everything was clean and well maintained. What made the stay pleasant was the excellent service. Everyone, from the front desk to housekeeping, was kind, helpful, and professional.
