Sands Inn & Suites

The decor was nice, and it worked well for an overnight stay. Both of our two rooms had TVs that didn't work, which wasn't a huge deal, but I wish the cleaning had been more thorough, especially during Covid. There was a lot of dust and debris across the carpet.

Checked in today and have one more night here, but the room is filthy. There's greenish mold throughout the shower and cigarette burns all over, including on the couch and walls. Even the phone is really dusty and dirty. For this price, it's absolutely horrible. If I could, I'd give it zero stars. Definitely would not recommend.

The rooms were fairly tidy when we arrived, which was the best part. The washroom, though, was still messy. My coworkers and I shared a room for a couple of days on a work trip, and a lot of basics were missing. We had no hand soap until the second night, and despite asking, didn't get towels. Two towels for four people sharing a room is ridiculous. There were also booking problems when we tried to sort out the second day. The location is alright. The Keurig wasn't maintained as expected, so getting hot water was difficult. We knew the previous ratings, but still ran into all these issues.

The staff were great to deal with, and the bathroom was nicely done. But the room felt worn, with stained linens and a stained couch. There was no heat when we arrived and it was only 6c inside. It took almost six hours to get the room to a reasonable temperature.
