We spent the first week of September here with friends and loved having so many ways to unwind. We went canoeing and swimming on the lake, played games, watched a movie all snuggled up, and took it easy in the screened gazebo. Little Island Guest Suite is such a picturesque rental, full of thoughtful touches and comfort, with a great spot for outdoor fun. We can't wait to come back.
I loved getting out on the lake each morning to paddle and take photos of the loons. It was usually as smooth as glass, and some mornings the mist and their calls made it feel especially peaceful. The sandy beach at Riddell Lake has three places to settle in: a fire pit with chairs, a spot with a chaise lounge and hammock, and the beach itself. There's also a swim platform we didn't get to try, another dock that was nice for fishing, and canoes, kayaks, and a paddle boat to use. The suite felt like home as soon as we arrived. It was clean, cozy but spacious, and well organized, so we could find everything and had packed far more than we needed. The hosts were kind and welcoming, and we hardly had to ask for anything because it was already there. Having a washer and dryer by the main entrance was handy for freshening up our luggage. Nothing bad to say. Check out the local shops and restaurants too, they have a charm we didn't expect. We'll keep Little Island Lake Guest Suite on our list for future getaways.
The lake area has a private beach, canoes, kayaks, and a paddleboat guests can use for free. There are lifejackets in different sizes and other safety gear, plus a campfire spot, picnic table, chairs, loungers, and a hammock. The location is lovely, and say hi to the chickens. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Bancroft and 2 minutes from Tim Horton's. We got lucky finding this popular spot on Airbnb, and I can see why it books up. Cynthia hosts a wonderful private suite that can fit five, with full amenities, two beds, and a big corner couch. One bed is in a fun loft you climb up to. There's heating, air conditioning, TV, and WiFi. We had a perfect stay and would book again if it were available.
Such a sweet spot, with a beautiful lake to enjoy. The host family were really nice and accommodating, and had thought of everything.
The hosts were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. It's an amazing bed and breakfast on beautiful property. I'd definitely recommend them.
