Room 108 was filthy, and after about 20 minutes I just wanted to get the hell out. It smelled like dirty feet and mildew, with stains all over: inside the nightshades, on the ripped carpet, on and inside the air conditioner, and on the walls. There was weeks' worth of dust on top of the bedframe. The shower had mold and no cold water at all. Whichever way I turned the handle, the water was boiling hot. The screen door was cut all the way down and across. I wish I'd taken photos, but I only wanted to leave. How anyone can stay here is beyond me. Avoid this motel!

For the price, I'd expect them to put money into fixing up the place. There are cracked tub tiles, peeling ceiling paint, water damage on a wall, scratched and marked walls, and the bed wasn't attached to the wall anymore. The towels were stained when held up to the light, the comforter was ripped, and the beds were so firm it felt like sleeping on plywood. The room smelled of smoke, and the sink smelled like ammonia or perm solution. There was no coffee maker or complimentary water, and no breakfast, unlike places in Guelph that charge the same. It was also a struggle to find a working TV station among 900 channels. It's the only place in town, but for this rate I expected better. If they fixed these things, I could understand the price. A 10-minute drive back to Guelph gets you a much cleaner, better-maintained place.

We drove two hours for a night out with friends, and this room was a terrible end to what could have been a perfect evening. The toilet clogged, and when I asked for a plunger, it was handed to me with dried toilet paper on it. I wish I'd checked the reviews first, since this sounds like an ongoing problem. I took photos, but I can't figure out how to post them. Trust me, they're not pretty. The room was one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I've stayed in. The heater outlet was exposed, the heater top had dust and hair, and the microwave was disgusting, with a brown substance in the corners. The walls were banged up and patched with polyfill. The sheets were worn and scratchy, and the shoe mat was caked in dried salt. There was an unidentified substance on the bathroom door, the jamb was filthy, the top of the bathroom wall was cracking, and a light was burnt out. The taps were scaled and corroding, the tank cover had a large sharp chip, and the toilet seat had pink bacterial growth. The tub was yellow-stained, the shower head's scale made water spray everywhere, and the towel rack came off the wall when I grabbed a towel.

This is a basic, inexpensive hotel, and the rooms need updating. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave. Front desk coverage is very limited: when we checked out Sunday, nobody was there. The coffee they offer is gross, so go to Tim Horton's. There's no elevator for anyone with mobility issues, and no pool or restaurant on site. Subway, Mcdonalds, and tim hortons are very close by.

The location was good, but the room needs updating, especially the carpet, bedding, and pillows. There was no bottle of hair conditioner in the bathroom, and I didn't like the kind of bar soap they provide. They should change it up.
